FAQs

The installation timeline for new floors depends on several factors:
Flooring Material: Solid hardwood takes longer than laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP), while carpet is usually the quickest to install.
Square Footage: Larger areas take more time to complete.
Room Complexity: Odd shapes, tight corners, or numerous cut-outs require more time and precision.
Subfloor Condition: Repairs or leveling needed for the subfloor will extend the installation time.
-
Before your installers arrive, prepare for a smooth process by clearing the room of furniture and belongings. Some flooring materials require acclimatization to your home's environment, so installers may deliver them a few days early. Proper ventilation is also crucial, so expect open windows or fans during the installation.

The wait time before you can walk on them depends on the type of flooring material and the installation process involved. Here's a breakdown to give you a better idea:
Hardwood: For prefinished hardwood, you might be able to walk on it cautiously with socks as early as 12-24 hours after installation. However, it's best to wait at least 24 hours for the adhesive to cure fully. For oiled finishes, waiting 48 hours is recommended before walking, and complete furniture placement should be delayed for up to 10 days to allow the oil to fully dry and harden.
Laminate and Luxury Vinyl: These flooring options generally cure quickly. While you might be able to walk on them with socks after a few hours, waiting 24 hours is advisable to ensure the seams between planks have fully adhered.
Carpet: Carpet is typically ready for walking on almost immediately after installation. However, it's wise to wait 24 hours before placing furniture back on the carpet to avoid any indentations during the initial curing period.
